Welcome to College of Technology and Innovation
Welcome to ASU’s College of Technology and Innovation, which is
located at the Polytechnic campus in East Mesa. I invite you to take an
on-line tour of the college to see how our programs, faculty, staff and
facilities help graduates launch their career. This is an exciting time
for ASU at the Polytechnic as we grow a campus whose programs distinctly
serve students through problem-oriented, learn-by-doing courses. Learn
more about our existing strengths, as well as our ambitious plans for
building a premier Polytechnic university.
We are formulating a new academic environment at a time when
information access and technological change are primary engines that shape
society and its economy. This combination is historically unique and it
underscores the value of an education in the sciences, computing, engineering
and technology fields. Our ingredient for success is to challenge high quality
students by working closely with dedicated faculty in facilities representing
the state-of-practice in their profession. Graduates achieve outcomes in
content areas including mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences,
and technical disciplinary studies. Learning occurs in a context that develops
professional ethics, problem solving ability, teamwork skills and awareness
of professional responsibilities.
Generally the college is about use-inspired learning and research,
and we accomplish this through integration and application of knowledge.
Various facilities support these activities including the Photo-Voltaic
Testing Laboratory, the Microelectronics Teaching Factory, the Haas Machining
Laboratory, The Flight Simulation Complex, the High Altitude Physiology
Laboratory, the Graphics Information Technology Facility, the Imaging and 3D
Data Exploitation and Analysis Laboratory and the Advanced Technology
Innovation Complex. These venues, which represent sizeable investment,
are staffed with experts where appropriate to facilitate
faculty and students.
The College of Technology and Innovation is rapidly evolving,
creating new educational paradigms, as well as engaging our disciplines
through industry partnerships and applied research. Whether you are a student,
industry representative, friend or alumni, we invite you to help us redefine
the future of problem-based hands-on learning. On these pages, you’ll find more
detailed information that may lead to joining our programs as a student,
hiring our graduates, serving on our advisory boards, or investing in our future.
Please contact us if we can help.
