GIT Online Option for M.S. in Technology

Admission Information

Requirements

Students interested in graduate studies at ASU must meet the following requirements:

  1. Completed Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  2. Junior/senior cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Admission Procedure

Students must first apply to the Division of Graduate Studies. This can be done online.

  1. Apply to ASU Division of Graduate Studies: http://www.asu.edu/graduate
    If you plan to complete professional development classes only, apply as a non-degree seeking graduate student.

    The Division of Graduate Studies will not process your application until your application fee and all transcripts are received.

  1. Apply to the MS-GIT Online Degree Program by submitting the following items by mail:
  • Signed application for admission
  • Letter of Intent stating why you are interested in the program and how it will meet your professional goals
  • Current resume
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation
  • Transcripts with institution's name and degree granted date (unofficial transcripts are acceptable.

Applications will be reviewed once both the Division of Graduate Studies and the MS-GIT Online Degree Program directors receive all application materials. Students applying for a Master's degree must submit official transcripts from all institutions attended directly to the Division of Graduate Studies office.

The Division of Graduate Studies office will not process applications until the $50 application fee has been received. Applicants will be notified of ASU graduate admission status by mail. Applicants will be notified separately of program admission by Dr. Thomas Schildgen.

Application Deadlines

  • Fall or Summer Admission: April 15
  • Spring Admission: October 15

Applications will continue to be accepted after the above deadlines as long as space remains available in the program.

Registering for Courses

Once you have been formally admitted to ASU and have been accepted in the Online GIT Graduate Degree Program, you need to request for an ASU e-mail account, because you will need your ASURITE ID and password in order to log on to the online courses. This is a requirement. Go to https://author1.asu.edu/cgi-bin/WebObjects/APSelfSub to self subscribe. You must know your ASU nine-digit ID number in order to self-subscribe. Once this is done, you can log on to the ASU registration Web site and register for your online courses.
